Our Story
Amai is a Maine based artist run gallery. The gallery specializes in representing upcoming and mid-career women and gender non-conforming identifying artists. While we want to showcase a multidisciplinary talent, we are now focusing on artists with foundations in sculpture, craft and tactile based collections. We enjoy partnering with various art foundations, fellow galleries, and unique art collectives to highlight women and gender non-conforming identifying artists and series in a variety of special settings. As we continue to expand we look forward to more large scale events, fairs, collaborations and the addition of new women artists and creative minds.
Amai gallery is currently representing artists, Kelly Moeykens, Abby Elizabeth and Jaclyn Mottola. As artists, they think sculpturally and the visual language and creative energy between their works complement each other in a way that ultimately creates something much bigger than the individual. Their works consists of mixed media artwork created by every day recycled materials and green army men soldiers. These artists utilize different mediums to transmit their messages on social inequality and awareness to our biodiversity crisis.
Amai Gallery is pleased to announce our newest artist, Cat Huss. Cat is an American contemporary painter and mixed media artist. Cat's quest for self-discovery and understanding of the world around her is what fuels her creativity. She seeks to understand herself and the world better by expressing her impressions of it in layers of rich color and simple, almost minimal form…. giving a sense of the layered life filled with wonder, mystery, curiosity, and a quest for truth in self and others. Welcome, Cat!
